    Stitch,

Copy the file to your hard drive. Next right-click the file, select 'properties', remove the 'read only' attribute. Then try 'renaming' the file and change the extension to '.zip'.
    Hopefully that works for you.

    Hi Mr B
The read only is already unchecked and i have tied renaming the file but it still keeps the .zip^ at the end.

    Hello stitch,

Have you tried this in safe mode?

stitch--Ask your friend what compression program he used. Better yet tell him what decompression programs you have and request the file be sent using one of those. And still better, is the file so big that it will not fit on a disk without being compressed? If it will fit, ask that it be sent uncompressed.
Files can be split to send by email. For example, in Outlook Express, click Tools|Accounts|Properties|Advanced tab|use the settings in "Break apart messages larger than ".

    Hi
Working in safe mode made no difference, My friend is living here in the uk now and his pc is back in Ireland so he cant get to it to put it on another disk, this one he asked family to do and they dont know much about computers to ask them to do anything to difficult, The file is more than small enough to go on to a cd but to big to email, would love to ask his family to send it by email but their outlook isnt set up to send mail and they will not be able to set it up, I have a link to a site for downloading the file but I cant get onto it, here is the link if anyone can help with that

    http://www.diff.ru/manual/files/Cagiva_Mito_125_Repair_Manual.zip

Thanks for all the suggestions guys

    You beaut!
Here is the manual listing (remove the last part of the URL):
    http://ursa.irk.ru/manual/
    Scroll down to Cagiva.

If this helps, I will add it to the two bikes I helped get going again on our trip to the Australian Moto GP (October).

    Happy biking :D
