"What are "zb thumbnail info" files for?

I have these files in some of My Pictures folders and don't know what they are for or what they do? They seem to be able to be deleted without damage, but would like to know for sure.
If they aren't of significant value, is there as way to keep them from being created?

Assuming you have Canon Zoom Browser installed, look within it for some way to stop that process. If you don't use ZB, drop it from your Startup group.

Thanks Surfer, that is the answer. I just deleted them all and everything works fine. They take up allot of space.
