After selecting "File" on the menus of Access, Word and Excel, I do not have the listing of the most recently used files. This feature worked until about 3 weeks ago. The option to set the number of files in all 3 applications is "greyed" out. Nothing in any of the help files was helpful.

I'm using MS Windows XP Pro and MS Office 2000.

    Help, please, and many thanks.

See if this applies to you.

Or did you recently install Tweakui?
If so open Tweakui and go to the IE tab. Look for Add new documents to documents on start menu and put a check in that field.

    Aternatively try

In an Office Application - Help > Detect and Repair

or via Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > MS Office > Change > Repair
