Do you have the full paid version?

Guessing you're wanting to be able to just scan a certain file or folder on demand??

Don't have full paid version, and yes, I do want to scan files and folders on demand. I have Avast and Panda in my Right click menu, but don't seem able to add Malwarebytes.

I doubt you can get either version to scan like those two... Not sure why you'd want to anyway.

But stay tuned, maybe some one has an idea.

Hi crabstix. Open up Malwarebytes, click on the Settings button and then on the General settings area select the Explorer context menu entry to Yes.

    See my screenshot below.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

If you are running 2 AV's which is what Avast and Panda are, that is a big no, no. Running 2 AV's at the same time will get you in more trouble than you can get out of without a lot of work. When updating one of them, the other may think that the file/files being downloaded/updated are something bad coming in and will either block or delete them making the AV you are updating useless and leaving you unprotected. Pick one and delete the other or at least disable it. My suggestion is to delete it.

Have checked settings in Malwarebytes and the Explorer context menu is
selected as Yes. Have you any other suggestions?
I have added as many details of my system as I am able, and trust these
    are acceptable. Many thanks.

    Mr Bill,
I take in what you say and will delete one of the anti viruses when I resolve the Malwarebytes issue. I just wonder if having 2 AV's in my Right click menu,
is the reason why I can't get the Malwarebytes in.
    Cheers.

While I agree with Mr.Bill's suggestion and I too recommend you uninstall one or the other. That said, you don't necessarily have to delete (uninstall) one, but you absolutely should not have both running in memory (real-time) together. At the very best, you are wasting resources (which can really bog down performance). But as Mr.Bill noted, they often conflict. I like to say it is like 2 dogs guarding the same bone, each wondering what the other is up too. So if one allows you to disable real-time monitoring, you can do that, then keep it in your arsenal for manual, on-demand, supplemental scanning. Just be sure to check Services to make sure the disabled one really is fully disabled.

But again, my recommendation is to get rid of one completely. Then make sure Windows is kept fully updated, and you avoid risky behavior like participating in illegal filesharing via torrents or P2P sites, visiting illegal pornography or gambling sites, or being "click happy" on unsolicited downloads, attachments or links.

Do note that MBAM Premium works a bit differently than other antimalware solutions and is designed intentionally to run in concert with another antimalware solutions without causing conflicts or consuming an excess amount of resources. So I have no problems with running Avast (for example) and MBAM Premium in memory together. Note that MBAM Free does not include the real-time scanning feature.

Should not matter. Any reason why you don't want to do one of the AV's now?

If you did add your system details, you didn't save them.

I have now uninstalled Panda antivirus, and sorted out my specification details.
All I now need is how to put Malwarebytes into my Right click menu. Any further advice please.

I assume you have the latest version of Malwarebytes installed correct?

You might try downloading ShellExView, run the program and see if you can find the Malwarebytes shell extension and enable it from there.

I am using the FREE version and it is up to date. Checking YES as Evan says does give me the option to scan. Checking NO does not. I just tried this several times and it does work. Puts it in the right click menu and will let me scan if I have YES checked.
What version of MBAM do you have?

Yeah, with my MBAM Premium on my W8 systems and MBAM Free on my W7s, it works exactly as MrBill describes it. So not sure what the problem is here but my guess is a problem with Windows and not MBAM. Perhaps a sfc /scannow may help.

I have an apology to make. I find that I have Malwarebytes Premium 2.0.4.1028, but according to Bill, this shouldn't make any difference. I'm intrigued to know what is meant by sfc/scannow, and how do I perform this?

Have just run the SFC tool which came up with the following comments.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

This puts me into territory that, at my age, I'm not prepared to go. I will therefore do without the Malwarebytes Right click, and thank all you good people for giving me your advice. Kind regards.

Your choice, and there likely is no problem leaving it but there is a site, Sysnative.com, that has a group of dedicated staff with advanced expertise in these type problems.

If you read and follow the instructions here, I am sure they can help you. Note these problems are often associated with Windows Update problems so don't be confused by the forum title.

This is the only site I am aware of with a dedicated forum for SFC problems and a dedicated group of experts to deal with them.

Many thanks Bill. I will try Sysnative to see if they can sort me out. Regards.
