I was a long-time Secunia OSI user and found it useful, but for months it hadn't worked right for me. Today I tried again for one last time and saw Secunia has discontinued OSI and their PSI program (v3.0) is now available for free. So I downloaded and installed it. After maybe 15 tries, it's opened only twice. The splash window shows "LOADING..." but that can last for half an hour with no final success. A Google search shows lots of other people reporting the same experience. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I've had some issues with Secunia PSI not being able to connect to the web at times, but I figured it must be a server problem, or maybe even Windows 7.

If Secunia cannot open properly, I think it's due a connectivity issue instead of improperly installed software.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Thanks for the reply. :)

From the Google complaints about the 3.0 version, I found a workaround: download and install v2.0. It worked right away. It also has a much better user-interface, IMO. Others said the same thing.

BOBBO, I'm running version 3.0 on Windows 7 and version 2.0 on XP.

Personally, I think version 2.0 has the better interface too.

Did you remove version 3.0 before installing version 2.0?

I didn't deliberately remove it, but installing v2.0 may have had that effect. I notice that the v3.0 icon that was on my Desktop is now the v2.0 icon. And I just checked Control Panel > Programs and only v2.0 is listed now.

Downloaded, installed and ran Secunia PSI version 3.0 and it immediately popped up an error. So I uninstalled it.

Tried Version 2.0 instead, (the download lnk is on the right of this page) and it's working fine. It updated Apple QuickTime and Adobe Shockwave Player.

I may remove version 3 myself.
