A rt-click on a My Computer icon can "Eject" a drive/burner with a CD/DVD in it. Is there a comparable click for inserting the drive/burner with CD/DVD? A restart will do it, but is there anything else? [Win7/64]

The three ways I know to close the CD/DVD tray is to use the button on the drive or give the tray a little push or install the freeware, Close Tray.

Right clicking on the drive in question and choosing "eject" will open it with or without a disc of any type in it. Unless I am not following the question right.

Miz....that "Close Tray" is exactly what I want, but it doesn't seem to work on Win7/64. When I click on "Close Tray ", I get the message "Application Not Found ". I can't find it either, it's not in Program Files nor Program Files (x86).
[Two other small programs didn't work either.]

I didn't try it on win7/64. Sorry it didn't work for you.

There seem to be quite a few possibilities using either Google or Bing to search for "click to close cd tray." I got a few million hits on both using that search term. Something out there should work for you.

My all time most favorite free app I've ever download is called StatBar.

    http://statbar.en.softonic.com/

I have it on my Win7 64 bit machine.... they quit developing it way back in the XP days... and many of its cute things don't work in Win 7... BUT, the open/close cd tray works fine...
