Probably a long shot, but I've loaded, removed, and reloaded Falconview four times now and it worked for a short time after the second removal/reload but now when I launch the program, I get the Popup reading 'FalconView application file has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I clicked on the Send Error Report, but this is doing me no good. I desperately need this program to do my job so any help would be a blessing.

Thanks gents. Yes I've tediously gone through the FAQ without success. When I managed to get it to run on my 2nd try, I actually went into the registry and removed everything related to FVW.exe. I'll try Revo.

Used revo and deleted everything it found during post removal scan. Reinstalled (4.0.1) and still have the same problem. Pop-up failure as soon as I launch.

What version of Windows are you using? Is the software compatible with it ?

XP Pro SP3. I've ran FV 3.0 for years on this laptop but it quit working. Loaded 4.0.1 after uninstall of 3.0 and it worked for a couple but after I edited the local point database using PFPS admin, it quit. No futher success with uninstall/install. I've read all relevant forum threads but no help. Guess I'll have to join and post there.

First thing I wanted to try but my System Restore gives me a blank box where the calendar should be and I haven't been able to fix this. Just went through 2 days on the virus/malware section of this BBS so I'm sure my system is clean.

Yep. One step of cleaning up after an infection is to make sure you remove all Restore points, (so that the user can't inadvertently reinfect their computer).

Well, I can't even do that because I don't have a calendar in select restore point and I can't create one because when I try that, my cursor won't go into the restore point description box.

SysRestoreCalendar found and fixed two missing registry items. Still no System Restore calendar. Only a box where it should be. I've also tried everything on the Microsoft site.

Did you reboot - necessary for some registry changes.

As I mentioned, I've exhausted all of the Microsoft kb recommended fixes. Including this one-all of the registry items listed in this kb item were already in accordance with MS recommended settings.
