My program Sonic record now works fine. But this gray box will not go away on my screen that says Sonic activation module when i try to do what it says i need to put in the disc, i tried the disc put it won't start up.
As a matter of fact when i put in any cd it will not start on it's own.

I just want this box to stop coming up I have tried to uninstal program but it says i can not because something else is loading and that has to be done first.
    can't disable it nothing.
How can i get this to stop popping up?

    Version is 6.0.34.0
    product version 6.5.0
    file version 6.00.34a
I have tried to go to sonic solutions and nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

    @ Arie,

What does NCH have to do with Sonic RecordNow?
This is a program by Sonic or Roxio or Rovi - -they all merged.
RecordNow v6 is now old and I doubt that there is any support for it ,
but the OP could still try Roxio support, but certainly not NCH . (which has ExpressBurn not RecordNow)
    http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/Recordnow/
    Support at http://roxiosupport.rovicorp.com/roxio/index.jsp?id=roxio

Just for a heads-up, RecordNow v6 is not present in the list ,but could be explained in the accompanying description box.

Well, goes to show I know nothing about these programs :)

A Google Search on Sonic RecordNow shows NCH as the first result (paying ad), so that's were I went.

    1. Yes I know, but I also know to avoid clicking on those ads.
I figured with your experience you'd know that too.
A lot of these ads are very deceptive and lead to websites that have nothing to do with your search. This ad by NCH is a perfect example of that.Besides, I avoid NCH like the plague.Even the descriptions on their own website are deceptive when it comes to their so-called free programs.
    2. Who marked this thread as resolved? There is nothing resolved about it.
Maybe it should've been marked as "Abandoned" due to improper advice.
    3. The whole approach to this problem is wrong.
The first thing to do was to tackle Startups and stop the **** from starting.
Maybe then you could some checking and cleanup could be done.

Not sure if the OP is still following this, but I'm sorry that the OP was left hanging without proper input.

    Just my 2 coins :)

    1. Only this time I noticed it was an ad, when I originally looked it up, I was busy & did not notice

    2. The OP marked it [Resolved]

OK .good enough.Maybe it resolved itself ,haha.

Anyway ,the reason I hit on this post was because I was searching for RecordNow.
In Google it showed up as a post on WindowsBBS among thousands of course.
Since it showed as "Resolved" and me being a member ,I was hoping to see the answer that "resolved" this.
To my surprise I not only found that the answer was inappropriate but also
that the problem was not resolved at all. (at least not in this thread)
Maybe it was ,but no indication of how.

Anyway ,I'm done with it too, unless there's evidence to the contrary.

    @ Arie,

    Good for you :)
This problem not only plagued Dell computers ,but also HP,Compaq ,Acer etc
and was most prevalent with bundled software that came with the DVD player.

    Just for interest:
    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/225848-removing-windows-installer-at-startingsonic-activation-module/
Post #6 (where it says: )
"Go to all programs, hit RUN, type in MSCONFIG, hit STARTUP, uncheck ISUPM & ISSCH, restart. Worked for me!! "

Just like I said before, control the start ups.

There was an update for this software - (higher than the OP had)
    http://www.sonicjapan.co.jp/oem/sony/rnupdate_en.html
    and a manual http://www.sonicjapan.co.jp/dl/SonyDrive_SUM/RecordNow6_en.chm

    OK ,that's it :)
