    Dear Friends,

I have MS Office 2003 installed in my Laptop which has been designed for Windows XP. I want to upgrade just Microsoft Outlook, not any other programs like Excel and Words as they capture more hard disk space. Is it possible? How?

You can purchase a newer version of Outlook all by itself... But it'd be interesting to hear why you want to do this? Which of the new features in the newer versions do you like and think you need to have?

MS Outlook only makes sense when your backend is Exchange. Otherwise its a space hog & danger to emails [PST format].

Actully Outlook makes a lot of sense if you do a lot of emailing and use it's other features.

    EDIT: Type-O fixed

I strongly disagree. I 'abandoned' Outlook Express many years ago (to Outlook 2003) and have been using Outlook 2007 for many years.

I have multiple POP3 accounts & even use Outlook connector to have my Hotmail account 'in' Outlook. Never used exchange (nor would I want to).

There are many mail clients & not just Outlook & Outlook Express.

Thunderbird, Zimbra Desktop are all very capable clients and are cross platform. Now that MS has opened up POP in Hotmail, you don't need any connectors for it. Ditto for Yahoo.
