I recently had my desktop fixed and I’m now struggling with my LAN, especially with printing from my laptop. This was previously possible.
The desktop is the ‘main” PC. Connected to it is an Oki 4100 printer, a HP Officejet 5610. Both are connected to the desktop with USB cables. Then I have an ADSL modem that is connected to the desktop. Everything works perfectly. I had to re-install the drivers of the printers. I can print on both printers, I have internet connection, etc.
The problem is printing from the laptop. The laptop is connected to the modem by cable and by wireless. I am unable to print from the laptop to these printers, but my internet connection is good.
I did the following:
Re-installed the printer drivers on the laptop
Changed my Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties from “obtain an IP address automatically” to manual settings
