Question Connect to Internet with no PC connected to router?

Dumb question:

In a two-story house, with one PC hard-wired to the router downstairs, and one connected via wireless adapter upstairs, would it be possible to move the downstairs PC upstairs (it would use a wireless adapter), leaving the upstairs PC in place? In effect, can there be be two PCs connected wirelessly upstairs with NO PC physically connected downstairs?

Thanks.
