Question browsers failing to connect

hello guys got a problem with networking on my vista system....i am running vista on one hd and xp on another havnt got a problem with the xp drive..everything connects and runs fine but 2-3 days ago my network shut down on my vista drive and cannot connect to the internet via the browsers...i have i.e.firefox and opera installed on the system but niether can gain access yet i can download and upload......i have disconnected the ethernet and set the os to wireless but still no joy...i have kaspersky suite installed and spy doctor also but scans come back clean...also i have reset the winsock from cmd routine but still no joy.....i would like to resolve this issue before re-installing os so any ideas would be appreciated for future reference....many thanks...

well ive worked on it all day today and still cant gain access to the web....ive tried resetting winsock/dns settings router settings and still nothing tried to repair os with os disk but comes back with nothing to repair cant even upgrade to ultimate...showing not enough space on partition for this process to comply with...run dotnetfx upgrades for windows but jack.....looks as if its heading for a nuking on the weekend......unless there is someone out there who posseses the knowledge............
