Shared Documents-Access Denied

Hi,
I need to create a new folder in the shared docs folder to share music between myself and my wife, but I get the message 'Unable to create New folder- Access Denied'

My log on has administrator rights, so i'm stumped as to why it won't let me.
I guess I can work around this by letting my wife's account have admin rights and getting her iTunes to point to MyMusic folder, as we share the same stuff, but I'd rather be able to use the shared docs folder.
Any help gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Wrighty

I take it you are trying to do this remotely over a LAN.

The default permissions on Shared Documents does not include remote access permissions. The folder was designed to share documents between users on one computer, not as a LAN repository. See the discussion here of Level 3 Permissions and their effects on LAN access: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040

You could, at the computer of interest, assert Ownership as Administrator, and add new Owners to the folder: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421
