Is it possible

That the work I did in this thread Modem Problem?
Made an overall improvement in things in general.

I ask this because since I did that work both the Wide Area and Local Area Networks have behaved MUCH better.

WWW is much smoother.

My Wife and I played some LAN games last night and I was SHOCKED at the difference.

Is it possible that the way MW was set it was online at all times causing hang ups on the Newtork in general ?

Also, yesterday I found ( and shutdown ) a couple of things in Startup Cop. One did point to MW. The other refered to a program that I uninstalled ( supposedly ) a week or two ago.

But over a period of time I have found it good to do a bit of Housecleaning.

I have also found that sometimes loading too much at startup WASTES more time than it saves.
