How to limit Internet shared connection???

I have 2 computers with winXP SP1 on both and My computer connected to DSL and the other computer connected in LAN and shares the DSL internet, my questions is:

1. How to block from the other computer to certain PORTS (like Kazza... )?

2. How to limit the other computer max UP/DL speed in the internet (not in the LAN)?

To block kazaa ports, find out which ones they are, and if you have a decent firewall, you should be able to add them to the bloacked ports list. You can do this either on the client or server, depending if you want the access, but I'm not sure about the other point.

Rike2990 - welcome to the forum.

#1 is difficult. Kazaa starts by trying port 1214 I think but for outbound, it will search around and locate an open port. And for inbound the user can easily change the port number. With a good proxy server you might be able to block it but I'm not even sure about that. With a really smart firewall you could limit the PC to using only the ports for http and email with some logic to tell it to only permit that specific traffic but you would be basically limiting that PC to browsing and email only. And since the firewall would have to be running on the PC to avoid blocking the other one(s), the user could easily terminate it at will.

#2 - not possible as far as I know. Maybe someone has a method but I really can't think what it might be.
