Been reading and searching posts and have not been able to find what I have going on.

I have an Intellinet 'n' router. Had been working fine with my desktop(wired) and wireless with laptop. Now I cannot connect wirelessly. I tried my netbook from work also, it will not work either. Laptop and netbook show my Intellinet wireless network with a full signal, but will not connect. I can connect to the neighbors Linksys fine.

When I connect to neighbors wireless(I got permission to try it), I can see it say "Acquiring network address ", this does not show up when trying to connect to mine. It just sits there and eventually times out and will not connect.

I did not change anything in any settings.

My ISP is Windstream DSL if that makes any difference in information.

Thank you for any help! Mark

    Step 1

Turn off your computer. When it has shut down completely, proceed to the next step 2.

    Step 2
If you have a router, remove the power cable. Wait thirty seconds.

    Step 3

Next, remove the power cable from the modem (either at the wall or at the modem). Wait thirty seconds.

    Step 4

    Plug your modem back in.

    Step 5

    Plug your router back in.

    Step 6

Turn your computer back on. When it is completely powered up, you should have your Internet connection back. If this procedure hasn't restored your connection, you will need to call your router company after all

Thanks, gave this a try this morning and still not working. I was in touch with the company via email and they said I would need onsite service.

Forgot to mention, I took router to the man in which I bought it from to be checked. It worked fine at his shop. Brought it home and still not working here. I did witness it connect to laptops in his shop.

I am planning on having him come over to the house sometime Wednesday, unless I get it resolved. I just hate not knowing enough to get something working. I am figuring it is some setting I am overlooking, but not sure what one it is.

    Thanks, Mark

    OK, thanks.
Now, do you use Windows Wireless Zero Config to connect wirelessly or do you use manufacturer connection software that accompanies the wireless adapter?

Being not so network smart, I am gonna guess I am using the Windows Zero Config, as when I originally installed router, I hooked it up, laptop connected and I was connected.

Hope that is what you needed to know.... If not, let me know.

    THANKS!

Took a look, and yes the Wireless Zero Config is running, it is set to Automatic and Status shows Started.

    Thanks!

I have similiar problem and have tried everything that has been suggested. My situation is I have hybrid router ( supports both wired and wireless connections it is a Cradlepoint MBR1000.) I have an XP desktop and two Vista laptops. For the last six months all worked fine. Then one day the about a month ago the desktop would not connect. Stated it had limited or no connectivity. Two Vista computers continue to work just fine. I have tried both direct wired connection and via a wireless access point - which is how it worked for months. Neither connection method works. Get same error message both ways. I have disconnected (shut down XP computer and router for half hour then powered back up. No Change. I would like other insight as too what the problem mightr be.

    U can try

    The solution:

    1. OPen regedit
    2. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ndisuio
    3. In the right pane Change Start to "0x000000002 (2) "
    4. Restart the computer

    Try this:
    1. double click the wifi icon next to clock.
    2. view available wifi networks.
    3. on left frame, click "change order of preferred networks. "
    4. remove your wlan from the list (and any other instances of your wlan).
    5. click OK button.
    6. wait for the baloon notification "wireless networks detected ".
    7. open the "view available..." again.
    8. click refresh.
    9. try connecting to your wlan.

Thanks, but same thing. Have tried wifes laptop, my netbook, wifes ipod touch, and daughters friends ipod touch, all can see the network, but not one of them will connect to it.

The guy I bought the router from was to come over on Wednesday, but he had a bunch of stuff going on and has not been able to come over.
