    Hi,

New here, so if posting in the wrong place, please direct me to the right place and my apologies in advance!

The set up is: computers 1 & 2 are networked by Ethernet cable, going into a router/modem (2701HGV-W Gateway) and both computers are XP Home SP3.

When pinged, they acknowledge each other with out problems.

When "View Workgroup Computers" is clicked, they both show up.

When Computer 1 attempts to log into computer 2, it shows up a log in box for Guests and a password box. After both typing in a password and also leaving the password box blank, the access is denied - either as not having access priviledges or or as a log in failure.

When trying Computer 2 to computer 1 the same issue occurs.

I have 2 queries - the login boxes only show Guest login and I can't select any other type of login.

And how can I configure it so that both can log in using the log in of my choice, if I can?

Both computers have no issues with connecting to the internet.

The Ip range used is 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.137

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Much appreciated!

    P
