plz do can someone tell me which routing protocols is best to used in a vlan networks that have 600 hosts with two series 2600 router. i need to use either ripv2 or ospf not any other protocol. can i use ospf in a cisco evnironment that have 2600 series router ? or use ripv2
my point is im usin hieratchical design model to build my network, which i think ospf is ok to used but we only have two series 2600 which i think is cisco hardware evnironment? is it possible to configure ospf in cisco environment ?

ospf is the better routing protocol. Definitely supported in a Cisco environment (see this google search)

However, how many VLANs do you have? If it is only a small number (less than ten) and they don't change you'd be better off using static routes. Routing protocols only really make sense in an environment with a lot of routers and subnets. On small networks (and yours appears to be relatively small) routing protocols add network traffic without much of a benefit.

Also careful design of your subnets can greatly simplify your routing. For example, if one area of your network has two subnets, you may be able to use a single network address for routing to both from a remote area. For example, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 could both be routed to via the address 192.168.0.0/23
