wireless network won't accept password

I room with three other girls and we share a wireless network account. Yesterday morning while I was at work, the wireless router stopped working. One of my roommate reset it (back to factory settings) and reloaded it on her computer. She input the same password we had used before. The other two roommates were able to connect to the wireless network without any trouble. However, when I came home from work, I couldn't get my laptop to connect. Now, when I try to input the password (WEP), it gives me the following message:

The network password needs to be 40 bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 to 26 hexadecimal characters.

Then it refuses to accept the password; it deletes it. Argghhhh!!!

I can connect to other wireless networks. It is only this one that is giving me trouble.

Look at the router settings on one of the other computers. This is done by typing 192.168.n.n (n depends upon the make of router) into a browser address bar window. When asked for the username and password, type the default values for your router.

Go through the sections until you find one named wireless or similar wording and look for an SSID name and a Security Key. Make a note of these just in case they are not the ones you have been previously using to connect. Don't forget case-sensitivity.

visionof is infamous around these partsvisionof is infamous around these partsvisionof is infamous around these parts

Here is a good reference site
If you can go online with one of the computers you can access the control panel of the router via that on computer
You can go to the manual of the brand of the router or manual or call the 800 toll free line
If you can not go on wireless use a ethernet cable connection
Its best to set up a router with a ethernet cable as opposed to wireless
You won't get locked out in a moment
