    Hi all

We have several branch offices that are all connected and sit on a MPLS backbone that our ISP supplied for us.
The Ad structure was created on one DC with all the user accounts and all OU structures.
The other branch offices are just additional DC`s in a allready exsisting domain.

Now the one branch office wants to get it`s own ADSL line and get of the MPLS network.
What will the tasks be to perform on the DC in the one branch office.

    Thank you

I'm not really sure what you are asking. Is the new office going to join the existing AD forest, or break away from it?

If you are breaking away, I think the safest approach would be to buy in a new server, create a new AD and then migrate users across to it. Then recommision the old server when you are happy the new system is working. This would allow you to try the process before committing yourself to the change.

Microsoft's migration tool can be accessed here. This tool includes options to try test migrations. I'd recommend creating a test environment first and have a couple of dry runs. The last thing you want to do is break your Active Directory.

The office is connected to the current AD structure and want to break away from it.
I don`t have the resources for a new server.
Will it work if I Unplugg the DC, seize all master roles, so the DC thinks that it is the only one in the network.
Then use ntdsutil to remove unwanted user accounts.
    Thank you
