I have a wireless router connected to my cable modem.

I am using 3 pc's wirelessly connected via network cards.

All three pc's have internet connection through the router fine.

I decided to network he all 3 using the built in network wizard.

I can see all 3 pc's from the base pc. (pc1), I cannot connect to either pc2 or pc3. When I try I get the following error "pc2 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network. Contact the admin of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access denied "

    I'm able to access pc1 from pc2.

I cannot even see pc1 or pc2 from pc3, I get the error message.

    pc1 is running xp home v2002 sp2.
pc2 is running xp pro sp2 intergrated
pc3 is running xp pro with sp1.

Appologies if a solution has allready been posted, I did search but could not see one, I've even scoured the web with no joy.

All help & advice very welcome.

    TIA Elv.

XP security is based on each PC demanding to know WHO is trying to connect so it can decide if they are supposed to have access or not.

Since you have an XP-home PC in the mix, your options are limited but it can be done fairly easily.

Assuming that really tight security (restricting what a particular user from PC-A is allowed to do on PC-B) is not an issue, the easiest option is to do the following:
    - set each PC to have a logon with a username and a non-blank password.
    - use the exact same logon for each PC.
    - put all PCs in the same workgroup.

There are other settings that have to be right but with a router that is probably assigning IP addresses and such, that part should be OK.

If you need more security options or if the above just does not work, we'll need more detail about your setup but I'm betting the above will work fine for you.

    Thanx 4 the reply Newt.

It did work what you suggested, but I had to update pc3 to the latest xp pro with sp2 intergrated, ran the wizard & all now working fine.

    Many thanx again
