I am receiving a "General Failure" when I try to ping any site or do a tracert to any site. What is causing this?

    My network is as follows:
    3 local PC's.
D-Link wireless router (used as a wireless hub)
    3-Com ISDN router/modem

The ping worked before I put the 3-Com in -- I had a Netgear router/modem using a 56k dialup line at that time.

    any ideas?

I can't find anything that describes the "General Failure ".

    Thanks

    Mike

Are you getting out to the internet from that LAN at all?

Can you ping the router from your PCs? The other PCs from each other?

Please post the exact, entire error message and say what operating system(s) you run.

msilvers - don't ya just hate it when that happens. :D

Anyway - glad you got it solved and you are in good company. I doubt if many (any) on here can't remember overlooking something simple when a problem cropped up.
