I am running a hp laptop with windows 8.1 I just bought the netgear A6200 got all the drivers for Windows 8.1 and when I reboot the pc it won't auto connect. I have the on board adapter turned off. I have to unplug it and plug it back in too get it to work. Any idea what's going on ? I have contacted netgear and since I got it as a factory refurbished they said they can't help me.

I tried the adapter on another computer and it works fine so I know it's not the adapter the other computer is running windows 7 though but I have been reading up on this and it seems to be a problem in windows 8.1..

Isn't this something to do with USB settings in BIOS? Neil.

Your P/N E0J75UA. Did you try the Netgear forums?

Yes I have tried the netgear forums. That's how I found out other people with this same adapter are having issues with windows 8.1. I have the usb ports to not go to sleep. I can even close the lid and it will still will work just when I turn it of or restart I have to take the adapter out and put it back in to work.
