Resolved Internet conniction keeps going away

    Lately it seems we constantly have to reboot the router or the computer because our connection to the internet goes away. We have the cable modem connected to the router which is then connected via ethernet cable to the computer. What also seems strange is that the laptops and phones connected via wireless to the router are usually fine. I would think that the wired connection to the computer would be the most reliable, but it's not. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    This type of problem usually indicates misconfigured networking on the computer or problems caused by malware/adware.

    Read this post, then post the requested log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

    Yes, the wireless connection still works, as our phones and the kids' laptops still work.

    The lights on the cable modem do stay lit.

    I'm not going to have time today to do the scans TonyT suggested. I'll try tomorrow.
