    Did you Google: internal support function returned an error

    Looks like maybe more then one contact is duplicated?
    Is this a home pc or are you in an Exchange enviroment?

    Did you upgrade from a previous version? There have been several reports suggesting that distribution lists don't import/export very good.

    I'd suggest remaking them.

    Thanks for the reply Steve. I've trawled google and had a good look round and followed several MVP recommendations including repairing outlook. I have to wait for my MD to come back in so he can check for any duplicated contacts (it's his PC). I'll let you know how I get on.

    Sorry for the delay with my update. I trawled google for answers and the 2 most popular were;

    1. do a repair

    2. check for duplicated contacts - as suggested here.

    I did the repair, then asked my MD to check his groups for duplicated contacts, suggesting if he had duplicated names with different email addresses suffix the names 1, 2, etc. He later told me that everything now appears to be working. I still don't know if he had any duplicates, he fends that question away, so I can only presume he did have.

    Thanks for all the help.
