How To Send email links from website through gmail instead of Outlook 2003?

How To Send email links from website through gmail instead of Outlook

Hello. I have just found this site. I am 70 yr old computer novice.
I use gmail as my e-mail. I have Windows XP and Office 2003.
Here is what I am trying to do:
When I am on a web page, I right click on the page an select "send link".
Then outlook opens and tries to send link by using Word editor. I want to send link by using gmail (which I am more familiar with). I only want to use outlook for its calendar program. Is there some way I can set something in office so that I will not get their editor by default? I want the send link to come up in gmail.
Can anyone tell me how to accomplish the above?
Thanks for your patience with me not being able to state my question in a more direct way.
Thanks.

bld

Welcome to WindowsBBS

You should be able to COPY the link/Url and PASTE inside an email that you start. It's not automatic or pretty but it gets the job done.

You are most welcome. At the top of the page is a link called Thread Tools. If you will click that, you will then see the Mark Thread Resolved button to click on.
