I have lost some emails from my inbox on outlook express. I am using Windows xp, Outlook express 6, i have tried dbxtracting them but they seem to have come up corrupt. My tech told me to click on the recover mode when I was extracted them but i read in another article that i should have not clicked that... Is that correct? Any suggestions on how i get the emails back?

It sounds like your Inbox is corrupted - that would explain why the recovered emails are corrupt. I am not sure that there is anything you can do re. recovering them.
I suggest you make a new folder - InboxOld and drag all the mails into it as a backup, close OE and search for *.dbx (include hidden files and folders) and delete Inbox. This will be recreated when you next open OE and the mails dragged back, noting the comment below ....
The theoretical limit on .dbx files is 2 Gb, but OE plays funny long before that. Check out the sizes of your .dbx files and if any exceed, say 500 Mb, create new folders and store some of the messages there.
i got my emails back, i used dbxtract.com and did NOT use the recover mode and then just dragged them back into the Inbox, worked beautifully!!!! Thanks!
