[Old email addresses/distribution lists showing in Outlook 2007]

I have a problem with Outlook 2007 that is driving me nutz!

When writing an Email and puting in the "To" or "CC" addresses, Outlook is showing a suggested list of some old distribution lists in with the new ones which makes it difficult to remember as my lists are numbered followed by the name, i.e. "1 Executive Committee." The old #1 which was deleted to create a new one keeps showing up. Then if I accidentally select the old one, it says "Error Occurred."

How can I correct this problem???
