Missing Messages

I have outlook 2003, when i pick up mail, it may say i have 10 messages coming in, but i may only see 4, they dont go to deleted or junk mail...

Where do they disapear to.

It is possible to set up a rule that will 'permanently delete' messages and in that case, you won't see any signs of them.

And it could also be that leave a copy of messages on server is checked, so OL "sees" all messages, but will only download new messages.

I have also seen this with Earthlink and other providers which have spam and antivirus filters on their servers.
Often they set them to run only after you login so the message initially shows under new message count, but is then flagged as spam and does not get downloaded to you.
You may be able to check this if you login to the web based access to the mail server and look for various spam folders in your account. Or call your ISP.
