Running XP Pro, SP3 and installed Windows LIVE MAIL 2009 designated as "for XP" [that is, not designated for Win 7].
I have created three accounts. Each shows at left as having folders for Inbox, Drafts, Sent, & Deleted. None shows a folder for "Outbox ". Yet when I close Live Mail, a screen pops up, saying
"You have unsent messages in your Outbox. Do you want to
    send them now? Yes--No {choices] "

QUESTIONS: 1. Where can I find the Outbox folder?
    2. How can I delete all messages from the Outbox folder?
    3. Where are all the other folders (e.g., Inbox) and how can I backup
then restore them from the backup?

I should mention that I am able to send and receive normal messages, but there are a couple of corrupted messages stuck in the Outbox [which I cannot see or find], and when I send a normal message, the progam also tries to send the corrupted messages and gives an Error screen saying they cannot be sent.!!! Thanks for any help.---Lee

I have had no reply to this posted question which is now quite old.
But I did find the Outbox folder way down in some folders under Documents&Setting.
Yet, Outbox does not show at the left [where Inbox etc. names appear]when I open WLM.
And when I close WLM, it still gives me a screen which says I have unsent messages in my Outbox, and asks if I want to send them now. This is CRAZY because I know the Out box folder [accssed via WindowsExplorer] is EMPTY.

How can I prevent such screen from coming up?

How can I make the Outbox folder name appear at left [with the other folder names] when I open my Windows Live Mail?

On my Vista machine with WLM I have 2 mail accounts, the last 1 is my Hotmail account, right below that is my Outbox.

To stop the message from popping up I usually click Send\Receive the last thing I do when I'm shutting down. Then if I have mail to go it goes and if I mail to receive I'll get it.

One other thing is to go into WLM Internet options and tell it how often you want it to check for mail, I have mine at 10 min.

    This is just a thought.

    WLM Outbox

Mopar: Thank you!! Boy, am i ever dumb. I have 3 accounts and I found the OUTBOX [dim letters, but there] just under the third account, each of which has its own Inbox, Drafts, etc. I thought EACH account would have its own Outbox----but now I see that is not the case.
So now I have deleted all Stuff from the newly found outbox,--so I expect I will not get that crazy screen. After I compose a new email message, I always clk Send immediately, so that message does not go into the common-to-all-accounts Outbox.

But query: How do I put a newly-composed message into the Outbox, so I can send it later?

BTW--The "help" stuff for WLM is really bad. Not helpful like that for my previous OutlookExpress.
    Thanks much again.-----------------------Lee

You don't. Messages from the Outbox get sent (on schedule or demand).

When you compose a message, just click the close button, WLM will ask if you want to save changes to the message. clicking Yes will save the message in your Drafts folder.
