:confused:I have blocked senders in the blocked senders list, but is there a way to auto reply to those messages without the sender knowing that the e-mail address is still valid? Thanks

If you've blocked specific senders why on earth would you want to contact them ? Doing so will indicate that your email address is valid - there is no way round that.

Exactly. That was the question. To somehow reply to the e-mail indicating some type of error in delivery of the message to that address. Can't be done? Thanks

I fancy only your ISP can do that where the adressee's address is invalid.

I really have no idea what is the result at the blocked senders end of sending an email to a blocked address.

I've edited your title to make it more explicit.

Followup: I found that I can block a sender at my ISP, and the sender will get an e-mail that his address is blocked from sending me any e-mails. I guess that's OK.

Although on the surface this sounds like a good idea however, you should be aware that these unwanted emails (presumably spam) are often sent from innocent peoples email addresses without their knowledge.

Sending bounce emails could actually cause your ISP to be placed on a blacklist as a spammer themselves.

Best practice is to make use of your filters and ignore the email entirley or if you must report them to the senders ISP. I would never advise bouncing mail back nowadays.

That's probably good advice, but if the ISP was really worried about that, would they offer that service? Decisions, decisions.

The ISP is probably set up to limit the number of bounces sent to each address, in this case one would suffice and if the recipient ignores it there's not much that can be done (apart from block/filter and ignore).

That all sounds reasonable, and makes good sense. Thanks for your input.
