cannot open jpg attachments in email

    I'm using windows mail on Vista and cannot open an attachment of jpg photos

    If you save the attachement to your hard drive first - will they open then?

    No, but am not completely confident that the sender is sending them correctly. However I did uninstall IE 8 and that made no difference. Interestingly the website the sender included in the text of the emiaol wouldn't open properly either. And this morning I notice the internet icon on my task bar has a red x thru it even tho' I can access the internet! That has never before happened. That red x has always signalled access was impossible.

    If I sound confused it's b/c I am.
