I have a system running Windows XP Home. The OS is fully patched.
There are two users, both using Outlook Express. All was working fine.

However, this morning I find that when logged onto one of the users, and running Outlook Express, the Send/Receive button is greyed out. Tools/SendReceive/SendReceive All is also greyed out.

If I load the other user, Send/Receive is OK.

I think that I have seen this a long time ago but cannot remember the fix.

In Tools > Send & Receive is the mail account listed?

In Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > General. Make sure that your mail account has the 'Include this account option' checked. You need at least one account selected there for Send and Receive to be active.
User as in User Profile in XP or User as in Identity in OE?

If User Profile this may be corrupt - create a new profile and try it out.

If Identity this may be corrupt - create a new Identity and try it out.
