I'm running Windows 8.1 When I am using Outlook, 2003, I was able to click to the left side of "To" and my Contacts List would come up. As of a few days ago, when I do this I get the message "The Messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook "

When I restart, the problem is still there. Can anyone help please?

Did you Google the error message and see all the articles etc?

Many point to a corrupt PST file. Outlook 2003 has a 2 gig limit on the size of the PST file. You might check to see what size yours is.

Regretfully it didn't solve the problem

I deleted several hundred emails and am now within the limit mentioned.
However, the message is still appearing.
Can I reinstall Outlook from the 2003 disc - and if so, what will happen to my email folders and contacts list?

Hi JohnL, Before you do a re-install of Outlook 2003 please take the time to look through this:
Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Outlook

Because MS support has finished for 2003 (and I think 2007) you may run into problems such as activation (if required).
Is there a Repair feature available in Outlook 2003 DVD/CD?
Hopefully someone with expertise in this subject will look in your Thread. Neil.
