My System
Question

Outlook 2010: All my mail is going to Junk Folder

All my mail is going to my junk folder.
I have Junk Mail Options' default set to Safe Lists Only and to Trust email from contacts. My contacts are all listed under Safe Senders. I have Avast Internet Security, but, thinking that might be causing the confusion, I’ve turned off the monitoring of my mail. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on or off.

Even when I mark the incoming mail as "Not Junk" and/or "Never Block," it still goes to the junk folder next time.

When I start in Safe Mode and try to open Outlook, I get that the license cannot be verified, so I can't experiment with the issue that way.

Also, I had just the opposite problem two weeks ago. All mail was going to my inbox. When I changed the filter each morning to Safe List, it filtered the mail until I shut down and restarted Outlook the next morning at which time I'd have to reset the default. I removed Avast and reinstalled it to try to solve the problem and ended up with what I have now - that all mail goes to Junk.

Someone suggested I add a new profile. When I added a new profile, I coudn't get the mail I just sent from another computer to come in, anywhere, so I removed the new profile, and we're back to where we started.

Anyone have any suggestions? This is very annoying, but I guess I can live with it if I have to.

I've no experience of Outlook 2010, but have edited your thread title to indicate Outlook.

Thank you for responding, Steve. I did try turning Safe Lists Only off. No result. Everything still goes to junk, so I turned it back on.

I want to add some more information to my thread, in case this helps someone to help me.
I have only 1 email account, but I've added a duplicate, trying to solve my problem. Yes, I know now I shouldn't have done that, and I want to remove one, but when I do, I lose parts of data. Right now, this is how things stand:

xxxxxxxx@xxxxxx.net (1)
Inbox No mail
Sent Mail from yesterday and today
Deleted 79 pieces of mail, recent and old
Junk Both spam and contacts

xxxxxxxx@xxxxxx.net (2)
Inbox No mail
Sent Mail from yesterday and earlier
Deleted 330 pieces of mail, recent and old
Junk No mail
Keep Mail I need to keep

Both these accounts are accessing the same data file, but (2) has my “Keep” folder, and (1) doesn’t. Both have the same calendar.

My contacts are no longer listed on the Safe Senders tab.

Does anyone have any more suggestions on how I can get to one account with safe mail going to my inbox and spam going to junk folder?

You could try running the Inbox Repair tool for a start .....

How to find and run the Inbox Repair tool in Outlook - applies to 2010

Thank you, PeteC. I did that a week or so ago. Didn't help, unfortunately.

BTW, everybody, I just spent 3 hours with a MS technician who couldn't solve this problem for me. In fact, he made it worse. Now my data files aren't where they should be.

It doesn't matter where your .pst file is so long as Outlook knows the location - mine (2007) is on a separate drive which is backed up hourly.

It may be time to bite the bullet, back up your .pst file(s) and uninstall Outlook and start afresh - with no guarantee of a resolution to the issue
