[Inactive] computer wont run programs and wont install programs

i really need some help. ok my computer had all the sudden gotten like 25 different viruses all at once and its been a pain trying to get them off. i downloaded AVG to get rid off the ones that were infected at first it was doing a good job but all the sudden every time i want to run a program an Open With window will pop up. so for like a week i had to browse programs to start the program that i wanted. but now i wanted to install a few more programs to my computer and when i download the file and click run it gives me this stupid Open With window. so somebody told me that it might be something with rundll32 or the registry. rundll32 was one of the programs that had gotten removed by AVG. then on top of that everytime i google and click on a website it sends me to some other website that has nothing to do with the thing im looking up. can someone help me.;)

    Welcome aboard :)

    Please, observe following rules:
    • Read all of my instructions very carefully. Your mistakes during cleaning process may have very serious consequences, like unbootable computer.
    • If you're stuck, or you're not sure about certain step, always ask before doing anything else.
    • Please refrain from running tools or applying updates other than those I suggest.
    • Never run more than one scan at a time.
    • Keep updating me regarding your computer behavior, good, or bad.
    • The cleaning process, once started, has to be completed. Even if your computer appears to act better, it may still be infected. Once the computer is totally clean, I'll certainly let you know.
    • If you leave the topic without explanation in the middle of a cleaning process, you may not be eligible to receive any more help in malware removal forum.
    • I close my topics if you have not replied in 5 days. If you need more time, simply let me know. If I closed your topic and you need it to be reopened, simply PM me.

    ====================================================

    Download and run exeHelper.

    • Please download exeHelper from Raktor to your desktop.
    • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
    • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
    • A log file named log.txt will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com
    • Attach the log.txt file to your next message.

Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file ", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Ok now I have a new problem. My sister really messed up the computer now. I told her not to touch it because I was trying to fix it but she never listens but anyway I don't what she did but now the computer won't even get to the home screen to sign in. It keeps going from the Dell sign, then to a screen that has the safe mode stuff. Then it goes to a screen that says windows xp. Then it starts all over. I really don't know what to do. If u can help me that would be nice . If u can't then thank u for the other help u gave me I really appreciate it.

Did you try to start in Safe Mode, or Last Known Good Configuration?

Do you have any idea what your sister was doing?

Let's see, if we can look at your computer booting from an external source.

Please download OTLPE (filesize 120,9 MB)

    • When downloaded double click on OTLPENet.exe and make sure there is a blank CD in your CD drive. This will automatically create a bootable CD.
    • Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
      • Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps HERE
    • Your system should now display a REATOGO-X-PE desktop.
    • Depending on your type of internet connection, you should be able to get online as well so you can access this topic more easily.
    • Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
    • When asked Do you wish to load the remote registry, select Yes
    • When asked Do you wish to load remote user profile(s) for scanning, select Yes
    • Ensure the box Automatically Load All Remaining Users" is checked and press OK
    • OTL should now start.
    • Press Run Scan to start the scan.
    • When finished, the file will be saved in drive C:\OTL.txt
    • Copy this file to your USB drive if you do not have internet connection on this system
    • Please post the contents of the OTL.txt file in your reply.

I can't even get it to the screen to log in. It just goes to the Dell screen then to the safe mode screen then to a screen that shows windows loading. Then it starts from the Dell screen and keeps repeating. I'm using my iPod to talk to up now

You have to use another working computer to create that CD.
