Unwant websites appearing

I keep getting websites appearing when I am on-line. Do anyone else have this problem and if so, have you been able to resolve the problem?

Welcome to WindowsBBS

My guess is that your computer is infected - read this and post the logs requested in this thread (moved to Malware & Virus Removal forum) along with a few examples.

Problems with unwanted websites popping up

PeteC
I have done many checks for viruses and keep my protection up to date along with a firewall. So I think that rules that out. Thanks.

There is plenty of malware that evades antivirus software, but it's your call obviously

Do you have the popup blocker in IE enabled or use another blocker such as that in the Google Toolbar?

Unwanted websites appearing

PeteC,
I have three pop-up blockers. On on Google and the other on Comcast, plus the one on McAfee. I keep them on all the time, unless I absolutely have to turn them off and usually just turning one off for a website is all I need. But I am still having the problem with all of them turned on.
Thanks for that idea!

Sharons49,

It still wouldn't cause any harm to post the requested logs, as Pete has said it's your decision but without providing more detailed information there's not a lot members can do to help you. Those logs may pick up something that your current security software is missing.

Please read this and post the requested logs. I should add that the people in this forum can be quite busy at times but I'm sure your post will be picked up by one of the experts.
