HJT Log - Having problems
Hello! I'm new so treat me nicely

Lately I have been having this problem with my computer. I use Avast! antivirus as my main AVP and lately, when the computer has been turned on, there have been alerts showing that I have had trojans and spyware attatched to the computer. A few of these alerts have come up each time. I have tried an online virus check but unfortunately they do not work for me. Anyway here is my Hijack this log. Thanks for your help!

The problems we set out to erradicate appear to have gone, but you have picked up another possible browser hijack - Spyware.Dotcomtoolbar, shown in your HJT log as searchbar.findthewebsiteyouneed.com

There is a removal tool at Symantec - download and run it.

The security on your computer does not seem to be very effective ....

Read this - How to surf the Internet more safely with Internet Explorer (Windows XP Service Pack 2 version) and follow the recommendations made.

Download through Quicklinks in my signature ....

Spybot - install, update and run and fix any problems it finds. Click on the Immunise tab and again on the Immunise button to enable a degree of permanent protection.

Ad-Aware SE - install, update and run a full scan

Also download and install ....

SpywareBlaster - update it and enable all protection. This enables more permanent proection against spyware/adware, etc.

and

Windows Defender, formerly Microsoft AntiSpyware. This provides real time protection and automatic scanning.

Then post another HJT log.

I assume you are running the Windows firewall - it is ON by default in SP2

Your HJT log appears to be clean - you can turn on System Restore again. Would be a good idea to make a manual Restore point at this time.

I must say that the feedback from your end re. the results of the actions suggested has been lacking somewhat. It is always easier to see where things are going if there is some feedback

Are the problems you originally posted now resolved?
