Stubborn Spyware (ALK, Rlss, Winnie, ect...)[HTJ]
I'm having some reoccuring problems with ALK, Rlss, Winnie, Wintools, Veritas, internet optimizer, and MediaPass. I get rid of the app, and then run Hijack This and get rid of all of them. Then I run both spybot and adaware and usually pick up nothing. After all this I seem good to go, but then a few hours later, everything is back the way it was (with some random ones as well: Setup, rtls. ect.) Hmm.. As I run HTJ to post my log file it freezes up right after it scans everything and before it creates the log... any idea how to fix that?
Is there any way I can tell widows to never run programs with certian names or parameters?
Well, it managed to save the log so here it is.

Download and install SpywareBlaster . Enable all protections, check for updates and enable them too. Then download IESpyad.exe , double click to extract (it extracts to C:\IESpyad by default), open the folder, double click the ie-ads.reg file and allow it to merge into the registry.
Fix the following with HijackThis, reboot and delete all files and folders in bold if present.

Open C:\Windows\Temp, select all and delete.
Open C:\Windows\Prefetch, select all and delete.
Open C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\temp, select all and delete. Do this for all username folders.
Open the control panel, then internet options and delete the temporary internet files, checking the box for offline content.
Open My Computer, right click Local disk C: and choose properties, then disk cleanup. Check all boxes except compress old files and click OK.
Update and scan with both Spybot and Ad -aware (are you using the current versions?). Remove all they find.
If comfortable in the registry, navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\OLE and remove any entries for veritas.
Right click My Computer and choose properties. On system restore tab, check the box to turn off. OK out. Reboot and turn it back on.
Go to Windows Update and choose the express install. Accept all critical updates.
Reboot and go back to Windows Update until there are no more criticals offered.
Download and install both a firewall and AntiVirus program. Check for updates and do a full system scan. Several available through links here .
Do post back if you have any questions concerning any of the instructions.
Post a new HijackThis log when done. Let us know if you're still having problems.
