Having Problem with Zipzappromos too
Hi! I have just joined the forum but have been reading postings from other users with similar problems. I downloaded HijackThis and will post the log at the end. I also have Microsoft Antispyware and Norton Internet Security but I can't get rid of my pop up problems from Zipzappromos and Waypointcash. I also tried to download GetLogXP.zip several times but I always get a "cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive" error whenever I run it. Please Help! Please download and install both Spybot 1.3 and Ad -aware SE Personal 1.05SpywareBlaster . Enable all protections, check for updates and enable them too. Then download IESpyad.exe , double click to extract (it extracts to C:\IESpyad by default), open the folder, double click the ie-ads.reg file and allow it to merge into the registry.RemInstAccXP.zip file attached to this post. Save it to your desktop. Rename if necessary. Now right click the zip and extract the RemInstAccXP.bat file to your desktop. Note to others.....the attachment was written specifically for this machine. Please do not use if you have zipzap popups too. Start your own thread and someone will gladly assist you. msconfig , hit enter. On the boot.ini tab, check the box next to /safeboot and click OK. Click yes to restart. This will restart your computer in safe mode. Logon to your user account.Ad -aware in the full scan mode, right click within the scan results and select all, then click next and allow removal.compress old files and click OK.RAV . If any files are infected, click the report button then copy and paste it here.

Yes, I've downloaded and installed the trial version of RAV including the updates. I uninstalled it already as recommended.

BTW, do you have any info on what could be the source of this popups? My son plays this internet game called "Gunbound". Do you think it has anything to do with it?
