Hi Sam welcome to WindowsBBS :D

Nice thread title it sure gave me a lot of information regarding your problem  please make your title's more descriptive and relevant in future. :)

Anyway, the easiest way to change settings back is to right click on the file and select "Open With... ", select the program you wish to use and tick "Always use... ".

I hope that helps but if not please post back with a better description of your problem.

    sam,

There is no such thing as internet files ;) you can download any type of file from the internet (html/zip/pdf/exe/txt/doc....).

Please supply us with a link to a broken file so we can assist. It may also help if you let us know what browser (Internet Explorer/Firefox/Chrome etc) you are using.

You will have to give an example, file name, web address, what you think should happen and what you think is wrong.

As I said, you will have to give an example, at the moment I have no idea what the exact problem is.

Pick any file you have a problem with and post back with its full name and extension, then we might get somewhere.:) I just need an example so I can make suggestions to solve the problem;)

And if you click Save - what happens? You are downloading a compressed file - .zip
