I have a client who has a dial-up ISDN connection to the internet. I'm running terminal services on their W2KServer for remote management. The problem is, that anytime I need to establish a remote session with the server, I have to first dial into the server via the analog phone line and modem to do an ipconfig so that I can see what IP that their Internet Provider has assigned to them. Then I hangup, and re-establish the connection via the internet. Because of their physical location, ISDN is all that is available, and due to the price difference between dedicated and dial-up services, switching to dedicated for that little of bandwith isn't really an option.

I was curious if there was some type of application that I can install on their server, that will either email me, or somehow send me their IP address, anytime that their connection is dropped and re-established and they have a new IP assigned to them.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

If you use a service like DNS2Go you can use the host name.

If the ISDN connection is dialled regularly (every hour or so to collect mail), you could schedule a batch file that does a ping followed by ipconfig (if the ISDN adapter is connected to a PC) and email the results using a command line mailer like blat.
