Does someone know what is default registry settings (original, untouched registry) for JPG/JPEG/JPE and GIF files in Windows 98SE? (associations, icon). I.e. what is correct registry values?
Does it possible get this settings from installation CD?
My JPEG files had wrong icon (Internet Explorer icon). Previous graphic program (Image Expert) changed and file associations, I recovered the default associations and icon settings. Just want check that all reg changes was done correctly.

Try the registry patches for jpeg and possibly gif found here:
    http://www.aumha.org/regfiles.php

Let me know if this works for ya' or if you have any questions on what a registry patch is. Once you dowload the patch you can open it in notepad and check out the registry settings these patches use.

I know these defaults have to be in the archive files. This was quite a popular topic often seen and solved in the past, on this board. If the above doesn't supply what your looking for, I can see if I can dig into the archives of old posts and find what your looking for.
