In IE8, how can I disable the driving force for the video advertisements. I looked under tools>manage add-ons, and there is nothing listed. These advertisements are slowing down my computer. Thank you.

Look in your security software for the option to block 3rd party advertisements - works in part, using Vipre.

No. I believe the answer is to remove Flash 10, which I found is the program running the advertisements. I realize that by doing so, I will no Flash 10 windows.

    From Ie's menubar:
tools>manage addons>make sure view all addons is selected from the "show" drop down arrow and disable the flash addon

using this method will allow you to turn it back on when you want, such as when watching streaming videos like you would find at youtube or on yahoo's page.

Yes. I tried that first, but the window for it was completely blank, and the space for the list was closed. I finally, with your support, had to use "size" to expand the window so I could see what I expected to see the first time I opened it. Thank you for you help.

    CONSIDER QUESTION COMPLETED

    Hello NeverBoring,

I am happy to help. Sorry about your display blooper. I didn't have it so I wouldn't expect nor have mentioned it. I'm thrilled it all worked out in the end. You may have saved a fellow member this head scratcher inthe future. :)

Thank you for the update and your most welcome.

You may want to try firefox with the adblock plus add on. use noscript also. No more secure way to browse ad free.
