When i try to download iTunes it allows me to select the run option to download the setup, it gets to 100% but then this comes up:

"Windows has found a problem with this file

    Name: iTunesSetup.exe
    Publisher: Unknown Publisher

This file was blocked beasue it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies the publisher "

I have tried hard to fix this but I have not been successful. Can anyone please give me a definite solution of how to get iTunes to download?
It would be much appreciated :)

    (I'm using Windows XP)

Check your tools menu, under Internet options, down at the bottom... it's there if you use IE 8. If your slider level is set at High under the security tab, you may need to back off on it. I use Firefox, and I'm running iTunes on one of my XP machines and my Win 7 machine. Installs fine and runs without a hitch.

If you have installed some security software, lately... it may have reset your security levels. It's been a while since I downloaded iTunes, but I think I got the digital signature warning on the download, but I just select to accept the download anyway. I never remember it stopping me cold.
    Good luck

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

No indication of which version of IE you are using, but in 8 and probably similar in earlier versions go. in IE .....

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and scroll down to Security - check 'Allow software to run and install even if the signature is invalid'.

See if that works for you - if it does uncheck the option after you have made the download.

Alternatively this may help if you are running XP SP1  .....

Pete C, I tried what you said, it let me run the file however nothing happened after that. I'm not sure what version of IE I am using, it just says Internet Explorer (No-Add-Ons).

To determine the version of Internet Explorer that you are running click, in IE, on Help > About Internet Explorer - it will be 6, 7 or 8.
Not sure why you are running IE in no-add ons mode - that is basically for troubleshooting. Just clicking on Internet Explorer icon should start it normally - with add-ons.
Did you select Run or Save - better to save to your hard drive and run from there.

    You posted ....
    I'm confused

The default for IE is with add-ons. I think you have a problem with IE itself for a start.

I suggest you Reset IE - Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset and see if that cures the problem with
Some detail of the error reports would be helpful.

Difficult for me to check the iTunes download re. file name and size as I run 64 bit Windows 7 - the version for 32 bit is different.

If the file does not execute it suggests that it is incomplete or corrupted.

As you seem to have two problems - which may well be related I suggest you download iTunes on another computer (a friend's ?) and try to install it. If the install fails there are other problems.
