I just your info from the other thread, and you have IE8.
I suggest, you uninstall it through Add\Remove. It'll revert to IE7. See, if you'll have same problems.
I also strongly suggest trying Firefox.

I'd give it a shot. IE8 has been giving some people problems.
Export your favorites first, so you can import them to IE7.

I wished I never downloaded IE8 (RC) when it was offered to me in March 2009. I could not even uninstall it. It has always run slow on my laptop.Even with 2GB memory,XP Pro SP3. Try the latest version of Firefox (3.5.2).You will see an instant difference. Also, you can add plugins such as adblockers,no script, and even a IE tab for updating with Windows
&Microsoft. I'm not advertising and I'm not against Microsoft (I'm a XP Pro fan),but the competition is showing. It is time for them to rise above it.

My System

Computer very slow after installing IE7 or IE8.

Does that describe your problem? in post 1
I figured the answer to that, I had Avast AntiVirus which slowed IE, now I have Avira and IE8. Working Fine

What antivirus do you have?
