Hello have just re-installed windows XP. Everytime I try to download anything, computer restarts, what I am trying to download is the nitty gritty things like Adobe, Flash player on YouTube. Even when I go on MSCONFIG, to uncheck, computer restarts.

One thing I did was Downloaded GoogleChrome on my friends computer on a USB, then dowenloaded it on mine. I then downloded MSN, works superb. But on Internet explorer, Firefox, it just restarts. I hat Google chrome as have used internet exploreer for years.thanks.Abs

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

I doubt this is an IE or Firefox problem, but more likely a Windows problem. As you are able to download in Chrome it does not suggest a RAM problem.

When reinstalling Windows - a clean install? - did you install antivirus before connecting to the Internet?

Several hits on Google hint at malware so download, update and run Malwarebytes and see what it comes up with.

Click on the blue Malwarebytes link in my post. (Anything in a post which is in blue and underlined is a link - we try to include these when recommending software, etc to save you the need of searching for it).
