I posted something about this the other day and I narrowed down the problem to Norton Antivirus 2002. It seems that when it does a scan for incomming mail, it looks for a SSL and I get this message.

"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'NB Net', Server: 'pop1.nbnet.nb.ca', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E "

I turned off incomming mail protection and it received my mail with no problem, but obviously I didn't buy this software for nothing.

My email configuration is not set for a SSL and I talked to my ISP and the tech people there don't know what a ping is , so, I'm stuck. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you.

Maybe the information from this Microsoft KB article can help.

You might wish to have a gander at this thread too and give some thought as to whether or not you really need to have the mail scanning feature enabled.
