Arrow How to Block Advertisements in Internet Explorer 8!

Hi all. Here is a method I found a few days ago that will let you block advertisments in Internet Explorer 8 using IE's InPrivate Filtering feature. Lets get started.

1. Visit this website and download the rules.zip file to your harddrive.
2. Unzip and extract the contents of the folder.
3. Open IE and click Tools< Manage Add-ons from the drop down menu.
4. Click the InPrivate Filtering button.
5. Click the import button and browse to the location where you saved the rules.xml file.
6. Once you find the file open it and you should now see a long list of websites added to the list.
7. After thats done click close.

Instead of having to enable InPrivate Filtering every time you start IE there is a Registry Edit so that InPrivate Filtering will be automatically enabled when you start IE. To apply the Registry Edit follow these steps.

1. Click Start< Run and type regedit and press enter.
2. Browse to HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Safety\PrivacIE.
3. Create a new DWORD value and name it StartMode (hexidecimal) and set the value to 1.
4. Close Registry Editor and restart Internet Explorer.

Thats it you are done. You will now no longer see any more advertisements on any websites.
