Good words about IE8

I have WIN XPHome SP3 and MS is now nagging me on windows update about installing IE8. Several weeks have passed since it was introduced, and I am wondering what the current feelings are about installing IE8? Is it worth it, especially since there appears to be some compatibility problems with NAV?

 

I have been running IE8 for about 2 weeks on an XP sys with no problems. Also will not run Norton ****.

 

I have used Norton, I doubt whether I will again. I have had no problems with IE 8 on Vista HP using McAfee AV. Now I have a spell checker sorted I am quite pleased with IE 8.

I will have to wait & see what happens...

Internet Explorer 8 is fully compatible with Norton AntiVirus, as long as you have the 2009 version. If you have an earlier version, and have a valid subscription, you are entitled to a free update to the 2009 version. Please NOTE, while this process will update you to the latest version of Norton AntiVirus, it will not extend your subscription.

Once you have update to the 2009 version, launch Norton AntiVirus and manually run LiveUpdate from with the NAV interface. When the updates have been installed, restart your computer. This process will also invoke the new "Pulse Updates" feature which checks for and installs definition updates in the background every 5-15 minutes to keep your computer protected against the latest threats.
